This chapter involved some family drama. Babamakuru and his family (including tambu) went to visit tambu's family for christmas. When they arrive Babamakuru is rude so this hints to me that maybe nyasha gets her ways from her dad. Also in this chapter something that stuck out to me was that babamukuru was acting like men did towards women at that time and for the first time maiguru said what she acually thought instead of agreeing with her husband. This stuck out to me because normally women respected their husbands and maiguru is a character that normally does a good job of this.
Whenever the family arrives and tambu sees her mom, her mom has changed so much. She is sick and weak. Also she acts differently towards tambu. The bathroom is normally cleaned and tambu asked why the bathroom wasnt clean that day and her mom snapped at her. something that i find weird isnt the fact that tambu ended up cleaning the bathroom but the fact that nyasha decided to help tambu without being asked.
Another interesting point in this novel is that lucia, tambu's mom's sister, and takesure, tambu's uncle, both arrived into tambu's parents' homestead because of family problems. Lucia ended up carrying a baby for takesure, but she said that it was for tambu's father. The funny part is that tambu's father declined that it was his baby, but he considered havinf lucia as a second wife. Did they not find that wrong to have two wives? To have two wives that are sisters? This idea is crazy to me! And then the whole idea about two wives dissappears. Im starting to like this book much more than i did at first and i really do understand it now
